About SJSallinger
Scott Sallinger showed his passion for design early in life.
His fascination with Legos was the first indicator of his future career.
At age 20 Scott began learning the fundamentals of design-build
by renovating homes in the Los Angeles area. Several years later,
he attended the Art Center in Pasadena and started his first company,
Sunny Boy Designs.
At Sunny Boy, Scott focused on hand crafting his furniture designs for private clients and continued
his renovation business which now specialized in Historical Homes. As his reputation for architectural
woodworking grew, his custom furniture and cabinet business also grew, leading to the opening of his first store.
The Sunny Boy Designs Store showcased his growing portfolio of over 170 custom designs, which now includes corner
storage solutions. His mixed media pieces became increasingly in demand, creating the opportunity to show his support
for the arts.
By founding the still highly popular Plaza Art Walks, held at Monrovia's downtown main square, Scott helped to
promote art awareness in the community - especially contemporary design.
In 2005 Scott moved his business to San Francisco for its richer array of Historical Home renovation projects.
During this time Scott finalized the product development of a modular furniture invention - Cornerture®.
This patent pending design is SJSallinger's first private label product.
In 2008 his corner designs caught the eye of a national furniture manufacturer. SJSallinger's first design to the trade - a bedroom grouping with innovative storage - is scheduled to be offered at market in fall 2009.
