Energy is sometimes referred to as force, spirit, or vibration, and it's everywhere.

It is a scientific fact that energy is neither created nor destroyed. It just changes form. Energy is something you cannot see, yet you can definitely feel.

What energy do you want to create or shape differently in your home?

In this article, we Identify the different types of energy and will look at different ways you can shape the energy in your home life with greater purpose and meaning.

The Objects, Elements, and Spaces in Your Home Hold Energy.

To demonstrate this, notice the feeling you get looking at a purple wall compared to looking at a white wall.

Or… the sensations you get drinking wine compared to water.

Or.. Looking at Pictures of friends and family may trigger feelings of comfort and connection, compared to looking at clutter in your corners or closet.

The fact is you have the power to shape the energetic experience you have in your home by the choices you make.

Shaping Energy… Passive and Active Energy

By evaluating the different spaces in our home, we can determine if the energy supports or distracts us. We will use the theory of Passive and Active energy to evaluate and shape the energy in these different spaces.

Passive energy is the energy of relaxation. You may want this in your bedroom, meditation, or self-care space. Using warm colors, soft fabrics, and gentle lighting will help you create this calm, peaceful environment.

Active energy is the energy of excitement. You may want this in your kitchen, home office, or living room. Vibrant colors, bright lights, and playful art create this inspiring space that is full of life.

Shaping Your Experience of Home

Let’s take a look at your home environment and identify some areas where you may want to adjust the energy a bit.

In your Space - Do you have a room or space that has active energy elements where you really want passive energy,

Such as the bedroom where you may want to remove or cover active elements such as a TV, exercise equipment, or your computer.

Or could your home office or living room benefit from adding some active energy elements such as fun shapes, bright colors, or a simple clean design to excite you?

With your Relationships – Are there any unresolved conflicts or tension at home? Like uncertainties about who is doing certain tasks in maintaining the home, such as cooking, doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom, or taking out the trash.

Could you establish agreements with the kids and/or housemates about conserving water and electricity by turning off lights or taking shorter showers? This is a great way to create better teamwork at home.

With Yourself - What activities are draining your energy? Staying up late, drinking too much alcohol, or spending hours browsing the internet or social media. What is a small adjustment in your habits that could sustain your energy better?

What activities could increase your Energy? Such as stretching and exercising regularly, drinking more water, or taking up a hobby or social activity that brings you joy.

And the thoughts in your mind…  As you grow and go through life, it's common to experience negative thoughts when life gets challenging.
